Countertop Demolition

More of the gone kitchen cabinet doors. I’m surprised the counter top sub-strait boards weren’t destroyed with the tile removal. But the mortar under the tile was in pretty bad shape, very powdered as I recall from when I replaced some of the broken tiles a few months earlier. Here we see where the sink goes on the right hand side, followed by the dishwasher opening next to that. Drawers and storage space rounds out the left side of these cabinets followed by more storage above.

Also the backsplash is gone and sow are the drawers and cabinet doors. Since the existing cabinets are made of hardwood instead of particle board, they are in great shape and will be reused and refaced, while the drawers and doors will all be new.
